a good mail day

Seriously, how can a day be bad when we are woken by a postman bringing this? My kit from Little Red Scrapbook arrived yesterday, full of gorgeous treats. My craft space is taking shape and for once does not look like a dumping ground, so I will be able to get busy up there soon. I made the following in the past few weeks, using my fab photobox prints. I love that I can get 12" prints from them.

Happy Friday everyone.

Glasgow was gorgeous

And the Botanic Gardens were stunning in their autumn coats. katy and I had a lovely few hours there on Saturday, playing in the leaves and generally getting covered in them.

She even had time to admire the beauty of nature (check out the serious face!)

One of my favourites from the day.
Not at all posed, honest! Seriously though, how scrappable are these?! Can't wait.

It was great to spend some fun time with her, she is such a fun kid to be around, and we laughed a lot. We had a girls lunch in Byres Road, and an ice cream in the University Cafe.
We also had time to catch up with friends, Katy was delighted to see Angus and Gregor again and we also managed to catch up with Fiona. We came home on Monday night and landed 35 minutes early! Wonders will never cease.

a bit of a catch up

Where does the time go? I seem to spend all week in a race to catch up with myself and all weekend recovering. But we're all good and enjoying autumn. Last weekend we managed a whole weekend without any house tasks, it was bliss! We went to Legoland and had a ball. We were celebrating George's birthday a day early and had had friends around the night before, so the fresh air was the perfect way to blow away the cobwebs. Anyway, here are some pics:

We have no photos of the best rides as the camera would have been soaked, but it was a day of so much laughing. We came home exhausted and wet, but with annual passes so we will definitely be back - with spare clothes next time. This weekend is also busy, we are up to Glasgow tomorrow night - after Katy's first school disco. I'm worrying a bit about making the drive to the airport in time but it's important that she gets to go to this. She's excited to see her Gran and Pop, as are we, and also the friends she made in France this summer, who we are going to see on Sunday. Then next week is half term so we have a week off! Lots of fun planned for then too.

happier and healthier

Can you believe she's only worn these shoes for 11 days? But the good news is that she wore them to school today! After a week and a half of illness, she went back today and had a great day. Phew! She ate loads of her packed lunch and came out with a big smile.
And finally, some before and after pictures! Our bedroom as it was:
and as it is now
And the dark corner
which we have decided to stash all our books in. There are still a couple of bags to sort here and pictures to go up, but we love it.
And this is Katy's room

Needless to say, she loves it up here :)
So we're feeling well settled and very happy here. There is still a lot to do but it's a very enjoyable and rewarding journey.
