poorly girl

I haven't posted recently as we have been so so busy with all the house related tasks. It's all coming along well, and I will be able to post some 'after' pictures soon. But at the moment our focus has been on our poor little sick girl. Katy has picked up a horrible bug and has been ill since Saturday. She's been pretty much laid flat by it poor thing. It's just a viral thing but it's taking longer than we'd like to pass through. Hopefully just another day or so. but it has meant that she's missed a bit of school. Luckily school was closed on Monday and Tuesday so today would have been her first day back, but I really doubt she'll be back tomorrow. Keeping fingers crosed that she makes her first full day in on Friday.

The photo is from Thomas' christening, I swiped the photo to scan from my Auntie Mary's album.

a determined little lady

Just updating with a few new pictures from the last week or so. On Saturday we went to Oriental City. Katy was determined to use chopsticks, and she did remarkably well, and showed a lot of perseverance! She managed a fair amount of pork and Phad Thai and was delighted with herself of course!
School is still going well. Tonight is our first parents evening, so we hope to get a bit more information about her curriculum, as after three years out of the game I'm a bit hazy on the details.

This photo was taken in our new park the evening before school started.

more photos

Here she is outside the classroom. Her new teacher is lovely and the school has already given us a long list of social things to look forward to, including a halloween disco for her and quiz night for us!

Outside the house on the first day! Below is the path we walk along to school once we have parked the car, it's such a nice way to get to school.

she's started

After ages of waiting Katy started school today. I'm going to add more pictures in another post, but as we haven't had broadband connected yet it is bit of a slow process. It went really well, she went in with barely a backward glance and came out talking about friends she had made. First day: great success!
